Nothing much, early November
4 November 2026
Dark by five, the radiator ticking as it cools, and a list of small jobs that has not got shorter in three weeks. This entry exists mostly to break the silence on the page.
Things done: replaced the washer in the kitchen tap (twenty minutes, one euro), cleaned the filter behind the washing machine (twenty minutes, an unpleasant amount of lint), and re-hung the shelf in the hallway that had been leaning for a month.
Things not done: the second coat of paint on the door frame, the bike that needs a new chain, and the box of cables that I keep promising to sort. The box has been through two moves. It will survive a third.
The light in the afternoons is worth the short days, at least for the two weeks it lasts. Then it is dark when I leave and dark when I come back, and everything gets done under a lamp.
Next entry probably about the door frame, if it happens.
